Shrinkage
The shrinkage or shrinkage denotes:
- Generally disappearing or losing weight
- A material property: the reduction in volume through certain processes, see shrinkage

- When solidifying cast parts, see shrinkage (metal casting)
- Reduction through wear and tear
- Technically: a form of wear and tear
- Radio: field strength fluctuations when receiving; see fading (electrical engineering)
- Medicine: The regression of tissue ( see atrophy ), also emaciation as in "consumption" (for example due to tuberculosis )
- Colloquially, the disappearance of goods from warehouses or storage rooms that is not registered in the company, e.g. B. through unrecorded storage removals, damage or theft
- in gastronomy the loss of serving
