Screen is a scientific journal for film and television that has been published since 1969 . It is published by Oxford University Press and appears at the Gilmorehill Center at the University of Glasgow .
history
The origins of the journal lie with the Society of Film Teachers (SFT). The first issue of today's magazine appeared in 1969. In the 1970s it became a leading journal in the field with articles from renowned scholars such as Laura Mulvey . In 1989 the paper separated from the SFT organizationally. Screen has been presenting the £ 1,000 Annette Kuhn Essay Award since 1994 . Screen authors themselves received numerous prizes. Current editors include Tim Bergfelder , Alison Butler , Dimitris Eleftheriotis , Annette Kuhn , Karen Lury , Alastair Phillips ,Jackie Stacey and Sarah Street . The magazine is also supported by an international Editorial Advisory Board.
