Screen Space Reflections

Screen Space Reflections in 3D computer graphics refers to reflections that are reduced to the viewer's cone of vision, i.e. the screen space. In contrast to ray tracing , the process is significantly less computationally intensive, since images that have already been calculated are reused. The game figure is not mirrored, for example, because the front side is not displayed by the graphics engine in first person view or third person perspective . Other techniques must be used for this. In order to avoid flickering , conceal artifacts and save power, temporal offsetting is often used. Disadvantages of the technology are often compensated for with lower resolution cube maps , for example when a ray hits outside the image.
