SeaBird Designs claims to be the largest kayak manufacturer in Norway . The company, which has been manufacturing since 2006, exports its kayaks worldwide.
Products
The product range extends from recreational kayaks made of HDPE ( High Definition Polyethylene ) to sea kayaks made of carbon . The Norwegian kayak manufacturer uses two different construction methods to manufacture plastic kayaks. Some of the kayaks are made of single-layer HDPE, another part of a three-layer "sandwich system" made of HDPE as the outer layer, a light foam layer in the middle and a solid plastic as the inner layer. This three-layer system has the advantage that the kayak is lighter than if it were only made of HDPE and given a stiffer shape. In addition, the foam as a middle layer ensures greater buoyancy. The rotation process is used to manufacture the models.
The series of laminate kayaks comprises eleven models. These models are supplied in fiberglass , kevlar and carbon. Due to the proximity to the kayak scene, the brand is constantly expanding its range and, with the help of the kayak designer Björn Thomasson, tries to constantly bring out the latest models.
