Sebastian Donat

Sebastian Donat (* 1964 ) is a German literary scholar .

Life

From 1990 to 1995 he studied comparative literature, Slavic literature and recent German literary history at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and at the State University of Volgograd (1995 Magister / 1998 doctorate ). From 1997 to 2009 he was (with interruptions) research assistant , research assistant and academic (senior) councilor at the Munich comparative literature institute. After his habilitation in 2006 (General and Comparative Literature and Modern German Literature), he represented the Munich Chair for General and Comparative Literature (Comparative Literature) in 2007. From 2007 to 2008 he was executive director of the Munich Comparative Literature Institute. Since 2009 he has been university professor for comparative literature at the University of Innsbruck .

His research interests are the theory and history of literary translation, Goethe , metrics, literary interrelationships between Germany and Russia, literary absurdities, film adaptations and interference as a literary concept.
