Sebastian Mullaert (* 1977 ) is a Swedish producer and DJ in the field of electronic dance music and was one half of the Minilogue duo .

Life

Beginnings

Mullaert's original musical education was classical, playing the piano, organ and violin in his childhood and youth. He was so gifted at this that he also gave other lessons. After his 18th birthday, he turned away from his classical background and founded a band in which he began to experiment with different sounds for the first time.

Minilogue

At a techno party, Mullaert met Marcus Henriksson , who was already working as a DJ at the time. The two became friends and founded the techno group Minilogue in 1996 - the name is derived from the English words "minimal" and "dialogue". In addition to Minilogue, Mullaert and Henriksson also produced Psytrance , under the name Son Kite .

In 2014 the two Minilogue members decided to split indefinitely in order to have more time for their respective solo projects. Both emphasized that the separation did not take place because of a conflict, but should serve their free, creative development. The two had their last joint appearance for the time being on February 8, 2014 in Amsterdam .

Solo project

Since the separation, Mullaert has focused on his solo project and experiments with other artists, including Ulf Eriksson and Eitan Reiter. He also founded the music label WaWuWe , on which he only publishes his own music.
