SECOM

SECOM is a securities settlement system operated by the central securities depository for Switzerland , SIX SIS AG . It is used for the safekeeping and processing of tradable financial instruments ( stocks , bonds , ETFs and derivatives ).

In 2008, SECOM processed almost 70 million transactions and at the end of the same year it held over 160,000 different financial instruments with a total value of around 2.4 trillion Swiss francs.

The name SECOM stands for Settlement Communication System .
