As a security consumer nations, organizations or movements are called, get the military out of parties with similar interests support. The opposite of the security consumer is the security provider , who is able to provide like-minded parties with military aid.

Georgia is a modern example : up until 2002, western-oriented Georgia was a security consumer from the holdings of NATO and especially the USA . After the modernization of the Georgian army by Western experts, the nation turned into a security provider: In the Iraq war it provided one of the largest contingents with 2,000 soldiers.
