The Maritime University of Gdynia (Polish: Uniwersytet Morski w Gdyni ) is a nautical university in Gdynia (Gdynia) in Poland .

The current rector of the university is Józef Lisowski.

history

In 1920, today's Maritime University was founded as the State Maritime School (Polish: Panstwowa Szkola Morska) in Dirschau (Tczew) . On July 21, 1928, she was transferred to Gdynia. With the commissioning of the school's own school ship Dar Pomorza in 1930, the seafaring school moved into its own building. The university has the Horyzont II as a training and research ship.
