Sefwi (people)

The Sefwi (also: Sehwi ) are a people in Ghana and the Ivory Coast with approx. 250,000 (2003) members.

Around 250,000 (2003) Sefwi live in Ghana, around 13,000 in the Ivory Coast.

The language of the Sefwi to the Kwa languages scoring Sehwi Language . The Sefwi mainly live in western Ghana and eastern Burkina Faso in the shared border area. Neighboring peoples are the Akan , Brong , Agni and Wasa .

The Sefwi once had the Kingdom of Sefwi as their own state .
