The SEGA Astro City is one of a series of Japanese arcade machines (housings / cabinets) from the Japanese video game manufacturer Sega , which are manufactured in Japan by SEGA Amusement (now SegaSammy) and installed in amusement arcades from 1993 onwards .

SEGA has also built other video game machines such as the Sega Aero City , Sega New Astro City , Sega Blast City , Sega Naomi Net City and Sega Universal City and the newest representative, the Sega New Net City . The Sega Astro City was mainly used for arcade system boards (game boards e.g. Street Fighter II). By modifying a Capcom converter, for example , it is also possible to operate newer hardware such as the Sega Naomi filter board .

Streamlined design and reliable, mirror-smooth ABS plastic are easy to clean and remain white even after years.

Among many players, the Astro City or the New Astro City , of which there are three model variants, which can usually only be recognized by the three different box systems above the monitor, is one of the most popular machines.

Importing is more or less difficult. In recent years, some of these devices have been imported to Germany and are available at a fluctuating rate. The SEGA little one is especially popular in France; the scene is great.
