A hose holder is an approx. 160 cm long piece of rope with an eye at one end . Another model consists of an approx. 30 cm long piece of cotton ribbon (approx. 8 cm wide) and a hook and a metal eyelet. It is used by the fire brigade to supply pressure hoses e.g. B. against slipping by their own weight or to secure ladders by means of knots against tipping over. Alternatively, this task can also be performed by the fire brigade cord.

According to the fire brigade regulation 1, the troop man carries a hose holder with him when extinguishing operations with B, C or hollow jet pipes .
