As his or his boat vessels are for the purse seine fishery referred employing encircling or calves for fishing. The size of the fishing vessels is variable, from small open boats to large ocean going vessels. In English there is the term of his (from Engl .: his , German: "purse seine") or his boat also in French is of senneur spoken.

The Seine are mainly used to catch shoals of fish such as tuna . Locating devices and often also helicopters are used for this.
