Page printer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A page printer transfers the characters to be printed as a whole onto one page. An example of this is the laser printer , in which the print image is completely transferred from the image drum to the paper in one pass. The print page is first prepared and then transferred in one pass. To do this, the printer must have a relatively large memory that can hold the data on one page. For laser printers, the minimum is 512 kilobytes, depending on the print resolution . If graphic pages are to be printed out, the memory must be considerably larger.
