geography

Geographical location

The place is about 20 kilometers west of Augsburg in the middle of the Augsburg - Western Forests nature park . The southwestern part of the municipality lies in the landscape of the Reischenau , the northeastern area around the villages Rommelsried and Agawang are part of the Rothtal.

history

Until the church is planted

In 1407 the cathedral monastery of Augsburg received from Friedrich Burgrave von Zusameck bailiwick and court in Kutzenhausen. Until 1803 the place was owned by the cathedral monastery Augsburg. Since 1806 the place belonged to the Kingdom of Bavaria .

Administrative history

From 1862 to 1929 Kutzenhausen belonged to the district office of Zusmarshausen and from 1929 to the district office of Augsburg , which was then referred to as the district of Augsburg from 1939 . From 1978 to 1993 Kutzenhausen belonged to the Gessertshausen administrative association.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Buch was incorporated. On May 1, 1978, Agawang and Rommelsried as well as the district Maingründel of the former community riding book (today Markt Fischach ) were added.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 2,027 to 2,480 by 453 inhabitants or 22.4%.

Andreas Weißenbrunner (Free Voters Kutzenhausen) has been Mayor since May 1, 2020; he was elected from a competitor on March 15, 2020 with 52.9% of the vote. His predecessor from 2008 to 2020 was Silvia Kugelmann (Independent General Congregation); she did not apply for another term. Her predecessor was Sebastian Winkler (CSU / UGG) since 1990.

Partner communities

The town has an intensive partnership with Steinfurt in Baden . In addition, Kutzenhausen maintains a partnership with the Alsatian community of the same name, Kutzenhausen .

Bundesstraße 300 runs along the southern municipal boundary ; Agawang , Rommelsried and Unterstefsried are on the A 1 Augsburg– Dinkelscherben district road .

On September 26, 1853, the Augsburg - Dinkelscherben section of the Augsburg-Ulm railway line , which ran through Kutzenhausen, was opened as part of the Bavarian Maximiliansbahn , and on May 1, 1854, the entire Maximiliansbahn line from Ulm to Munich was finally completed. Today, the two-track Kutzenhausen stop is served by the Fugger Express , which runs every hour as a regional express from Ulm to Munich and as a regional train from Dinkelscherben to Munich, so that there is a half-hourly service between Dinkelscherben and Munich.

The Augsburger Verkehrsverbund (AVV) maintains the non-clocked bus schedule for line 507 to Augsburg on weekdays.
