location

Hiltenfingen is about 30 kilometers south of Augsburg and about one kilometer southwest of Schwabmünchen an der Wertach on the western edge of the Lechfeld .

In addition to the parish village of Hiltenfingen, there are also the not officially named parts of the municipality Hiltenfinger-Keller and Goldene Weide.

history

While archaeological finds point to a town being founded in the 8th or 9th century BC. Hiltenfingen was first mentioned in a document around 1180 AD. The ecclesiastically exercised feudal lordship went to the Commandery of the Teutonic Order in Blumenthal near Aichach in 1280 until secularization . Although lying in the Swabian area, the place belonged to the Deutschordensballei Franken . The place has belonged to Bavaria since 1805 . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 1,243 to 1,496 by 253 inhabitants or by 20.4%.

The community is a member of the administrative community Langerringen .

Municipal council

In the local elections on March 15, 2020 , only the joint election proposal from the Christian Voters 'Union and Free Voters' Association (CWU / FWV) was submitted. As in the 2008–2014 and 2014–2020 terms of office, the joint list thus occupies all twelve seats of the municipal council.

Robert Irmler has been First Mayor since May 1, 2020; also a candidate from CWU and FWV (94.1% of the vote). Its predecessor was Kornelius Griebl (FWV / CWU); he held the office from 2002 to 2020.
