history

The Augsburg bishopric had rich property in the place, which it gave as a fief to various Augsburg citizens such as B. the families Langenmantel and Schongauer. From the 14th century to 1505 and from 1698 to the middle of the 19th century, the Langenmantel family in particular was an important landlord and had jurisdiction over the town. Since 1313 the cathedral chapter of Augsburg also had some fiefdoms, which in 1629 passed into the possession of the imperial monastery of St. Ulrich and Afra in Augsburg. Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803 the place belongs to Bavaria.
