Seleukia at Hedyphon

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Seleukia am Hedyphon (also Seleukia Susiana ) was an ancient city in the southwest of today's Iran . The location of the city has not yet been identified with certainty, but the Hedyphon is tentatively equated with the Jarrahi and the place with Ja Nishin . The city is said to have previously carried the name Solace ( Strabo 16,1,18). It was at least temporarily the capital of the rulers of the Elymais , who also minted coins here.
