Selma (potato)

The waxy salad potato Selma was first registered in Germany in 1972. It prefers sunny, nutrient-rich and sandy to loamy arable soils. It has yellow flesh and a yellow skin, as well as smooth skin and a long oval shape; in adverse weather conditions, it can take on unusual shapes, but this does not affect the taste. Their ripening time is medium early. It is one of the most popular types of salad potatoes in southern Germany.

Resistances

It is resistant to wart disease and has a high resistance to scab , Rhizoctonia , Erwinia blackleg , potato virus A. Because of their high Blattroll- and Y virus susceptibility of owning replica discouraged.

Vulnerabilities

It is susceptible to leaf roll virus and potato nematodes . It should be noted that some literature sources advise against the use of the herbicidal active ingredient metribuzin in post-emergence treatments.
