Semo Port Railroad

The Semo Port Railroad ( AAR Reporting Mark : SE) is a US shunting railroad company based in Missouri . The company is based in Scott City . The railway owned by the Southeast Missouri Regional Port Authority (Semo Port) will connect several industrial areas and the newly built Semo Port to the railway network over a 12.9 km stretch.

The company was founded on October 28, 1994, when the Missouri Pacific Railroad bought the route between Rush Junction and Capadeau Junction (Cap Girardeau Branch). At these two points there are transfer points to the BNSF Railway (Rush Jct.) And to the Union Pacific Railroad (Capadeau Jct.). In 1995 the port on the Mississippi River was connected by a 1.6 km extension.

The company has a locomotive EMD GP7L provided by the US Army was purchased, as well as three of motives Rail Inc. leased EMD GP10 . The Semo Port Railroad itself does not have its own staff. In the beginning it was operated by the Respondek Railroad . Since August 27, 1998 by Motive Rail Inc.
