Mötzingen transmitter

The Mötzingen transmitter is a broadcasting system of the Südwestrundfunk (formerly the Süddeutscher Rundfunk ) for broadcasting radio signals. It is located in the municipality of Mötzingen 10 km southwest of the city of Herrenberg . A free-standing tubular mast is used as the antenna carrier.

The transmitter was originally set up as a VHF filling transmitter, because in the area around Herrenberg, which was surrounded on three sides by the broadcasting area of ​​the Südwestfunk , the SWF, but not the responsible SDR transmitters could be received. After the merger of SDR and SWF, the station has largely lost its original purpose.
