Mertesheim transmitter

The Mertesheim transmitter is a radio transmitter . It is located south of the town of Mertesheim in the Palatinate . A terminal mast of a medium-voltage overhead line is used as the antenna carrier .

It is not uncommon for overhead line masts to be used as carriers for cell phone antennas, but their use as carriers for transmission antennas for radio broadcasters is very rare and if so, for static reasons and to achieve the necessary antenna height, a mast of medium voltage, but rather the high or very high voltage level is used.

From here the town of Mertesheim is supplied, which due to its location in the valley of the Eisbach is not sufficiently supplied by the surrounding large transmitter sites. The range is accordingly limited to the named location.
