Sensitization is the process or impulse-controlled change in the state of sensitivity.

Sensitivity describes the active or passive emotional , cognitive and motivational state of a person for a certain subject area acquired through an impulse or a process .

The sensitivity level shows on which scale value or in which state the sensitivity is and allows e.g. draw conclusions about the persistence and intensity of the motivation to get involved in new emotional and cognitive stimuli.

According to Kramersmeyer, the construct of sustainable sensitization is the sustained change in the level of sensitivity of an individual in relation to a specific context.

Course of the awareness process

Synonyms use

Concepts similar to sensibility and sensitization are often but heterogeneously used in the psychological context. Whether you work with signs on the motorway, pictures on cigarette packets, etc., one speaks of awareness-raising processes.

For Heckhausen / Heckhausen, sensitivity is associated with emotions, interest and curiosity. Odenbach uses the term "insight" as a condition for sustainable sensitization. Bönsch writes that memory is particularly good when there is a pleasant emotional connection with the material. Kandel explains consciousness as a state of conscious perception or selective attention, which allows us to focus on important content and fade out the insignificant. Ciompi defines the aspect as a physical and emotional mood or mood of varying quality, closeness to consciousness and duration.
