September Murder is a German progressive / death metal band from Thale in the Harz region .

history

September Murder was founded in 2004 by the guitarist Emanuel Brauer and the bassist Guntar Elsaßer. Two years later, the drummer Stefan Voigtländer and the singer Oliver Schacke completed the line-up, in which the first concerts were played across Germany.

In the summer of 2007 the band visited seven Schmiedeberg studios in Rübeland to record their EP After Every Setting Sun together with producer Jens Martinek. Immediately after the release in autumn of the same year, the band signed a contract with the Berlin label Maintain Records and worked on the debut album Agony in Flesh , which was recorded in summer 2008 and released in winter 2009.

At the beginning of 2009 the now vacant post of drummer was filled with Clemens Frank ( Hidden in the Fog , Unloved, live for Disillusion and Mathyr). Then September Murder wrote new songs for the second long player and welcomed Marcus Kühne as the new bass player shortly after the studio recordings began in spring 2011. The band reported at the end of September 2012 that they had finished the album, now called He Who Invokes Decadence , and were preparing for its release.

style

The musical style of September Murder is significantly shaped by its roots in traditional death metal and thrash metal , but is increasingly being enriched by the areas of progressive metal and experimental music .
