Seraphim of Glastonbury
Seraphim von Glastonbury , real name William Henry Hugo Newman-Norton (born February 27, 1948 in London ), is a British clergyman, metropolitan and head of the British Orthodox Church . With and in this he was a member of the Coptic Church from 1996 to 2015 .
Life
After his ordination as a deacon in 1969, the sacrament of ordination was ordained on February 27, 1971. In 1994 he became a monk of the Holy Virgin Mary (El-Surian) monastery in Wadi El Natrun, Egypt and was given the name Seraphim El-Suriani . On June 19, 1994 he became Metropolitan of the British Orthodox Church.
Seraphim of Glastonbury is the author of numerous theological writings.
