Seraq Masere

Seraq Masere was the title of master of ceremonies at the imperial court in imperial Ethiopia . The title has been known since Emperor Amda Seyon (1314–1344). It was one of his duties to accompany high-ranking guests to the emperor and to entertain them. At the coronation of a new emperor, he was crowned by Seraq Masere . In addition, the Seraq Masere was a member of the college of judges at the imperial court. With the end of the monarchy the title expired.
