Sergei Jurjewitsch Makarytschew ( Russian Сергей Юрьевич Макарычев, scientific transliteration Sergei Jur'evič Makaryčev ; born November 17, 1953 in Moscow ) is a Russian chess player .

Sergei Makarychev was European youth champion in 1973/74 . In 1974 he was awarded the title of International Master by FIDE , and in 1976 he became a Grand Master . Makarychev won the European Club Cup four times , in 1976 with Burevestnik Moscow , 1986, 1988 and 1990 with CSKA Moscow . He is listed as inactive at FIDE because he has not played an Elo rated game since 1996 .
