Sergio Hernández , also known as El Marqués , is a Dominican singer.

Hernández became known as a singer with the Los Hijos del Rey before joining the Fernando Villalona Orchestra . He later performed with his own orchestra and the Conjunto Quisqueya . He became known as the interpreter of the songs José Josés (including El triste , He renunciado a ti , El amor Acaba Amar y querer , Mi vida Preso ), with whom he also appeared and made recordings. He successfully participated in international music festivals, including the Festival de la Canción y la Voz in Puerto Rico, where he was praised as el baladista del merengue , and as the first Latin American musician at the singing festival in South Korea. He was awarded the Paloma de la Paz in 2019 for his musical performance and humanitarian commitment .
