Gopi Chandra Parki (born July 25, 1989 ) is a Nepalese athlete who specializes in the 400 and 800 meter run .

Athletic career

Gopi Chandra Parki gained his first international experience at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon , where he finished 15th in the 5000 meter run in 14: 57.75 minutes and was ninth over 10,000 meters with a new national record of 30: 30.99 minutes . In 2016, he took part in the South Asian Games in Guwahati for the first time , where he finished sixth in the 10,000 meter run in 31: 29.63 minutes. In 2017 he finished ninth over 5000 meters at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar in 15: 52.75 minutes and did not finish over 10,000 meters. He also won the Kathmandu Marathon in September. In 2018 he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta in the marathon , but could not finish his race there. The following year he won the South Asian Games in Kathmandu in 14: 54.20 minutes over 5000 meters.

In 2018 Parki was the Nepalese champion in the 5000 and 10,000 meter races and again in the 5000 meters in 2019.
