from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ServiceOn Access (formerly: NSÜ) is a modular network management system from the manufacturer Ericsson (formerly Marconi Company ). ServiceOn is primarily used for large networks in the telecommunications sector and covers almost all areas of application (access, data, optical, switching) in all common technologies ( xDSL , ATM , IP , SDH , DWDM ).

Modules

ServiceOn Access consists of the following modules:

  • ServiceOn EM - module for the WAN backbone (SDH, DWDM etc.), access area (xDSL, SDH / PDH -Leased Lines etc.) and microwave (mobile backhauling)

In addition to these modules, ServiceOn is divided into a server (based on Unix ) and a GUI client application (based on Java ). Among other things, SNMP is used for communication with the network elements . As a result, ServiceOn can work with all SNMP-capable network elements. Gateways are available for other protocols ( SISA , QD2 ) .

All known network elements are stored in a database.

ServiceOn is used in Germany by Deutsche Telekom , Vodafone , telent GmbH and EWE TEL , among others .
