Sesqui

Sesqui (from Latin for one and a half or half more) is a prefix that is particularly used in the natural sciences. Examples are sesquioxides , sesquiterpenes and sesquilinear form .

In organ building there is a register Sesquialtera or Sesquialter . It is built as a double register from a fifth and a third ( 2 23 ′ + 1 35 ′) and as a triple register ( 2 23 ′ + 2 ′ + 1 35 ′).
