The Setra S 315 GT-HD is a ComfortClass 300 touring coach from the German bus manufacturer Setra . The bus went into production in 1996 and was replaced by the S 415 GT-HD in 2003. The two longer, three-axle variants S 317 GT-HD and S 319 GT-HD were produced alongside him. After the end of production of the bus, the latter was completely taken out of the range and no longer had a successor. To compensate, the S 416 GT-HD rolled off the production line as the golden mean.

technical description

body

The S 315 GT-HD is a two-axle mid-decker with a self-supporting body in a skeleton frame construction . At the top is the passenger compartment, below the trunk. The Mercedes-Benz OM 457 LA engine, which was powerful at the time, had a displacement of 11,967 cubic centimeters and was available in three different output levels. The passenger compartment can be reached via two single-width single-leaf doors that open outwards; the first is at the front, the second in the middle or optionally at the rear. In contrast to all TopClass 300 buses , the S 315 GT-HD does not have a separate driver's door.

engine and gears

The vehicle is powered by a turbocharged six-cylinder in-line diesel engine of the type Mercedes-Benz OM 457 LA with a displacement of 11.967 cubic centimeters and an output of 260, 310 or 320 kilowatts. The engine complies with the Euro III emissions standard . The torque is transferred to a manual gearbox of the type GO 190-6 or to an automated manual gearbox ZF ASTronic. It has six (GO 190-6) or twelve (ZF ASTronic) gears. The tank volume for diesel is around 490 liters.

Furnishing

The interior of the S 315 GT-HD has a modular structure. It can be supplied as a standard 3, 4 or 5 star variant, which differ particularly in terms of the seating. The 3-star variant is equipped with 55 seats, the 4-star variant with 49 and the 5-star variant with 44 seats. The toilet is built in next to the stairs behind the second door on the right from the outside and instead of seats, a bistro with kitchen can also be supplied.
