A setting staff (also called staff leveler ) is a tool used in surveying technology for setting up height profiles. It is essentially like a spirit level . It is usually used in combination with a dipstick or leveling staff . First, a reference plane with rods or battens is measured with a leveling device. In addition, the lath is attached to the support points distributed across the site at the desired height.
