The Severinstor , also Peichtertor , is a city gate in Passau .

The gate is the western entrance to the Innstadt and dates from 1412. It was part of the Innstadt fortifications, of which a section of the wall still occupied by towers has been preserved. Of the Severinstor itself, however, only the barbican remains. It stands near the Severinskirche with the associated cemetery.

The name “Peichtertor” goes back to the former Boiotro fort that was located here. In 1988 the Severinstor was restored for 150,000 DM, of which the city had to raise a third.

Nearby is the Peichterturm , built in 1403 , a round tower that reinforced the city wall. It was restored in 1983.
