Part 1

Dawkins begins his documentary with the sentence "More and more of us are realizing that there is no God. How can you find meaning in life if you don't believe in life afterwards?" Dawkins speaks to believers about what guidelines they should have in their lives. He shows socially committed Christians and asks himself whether we need a 2,000 year old code of a desert tribe - meaning the Bible - for our morality today. Dawkins interviews a Christian who is very preoccupied with his own sex life. In Dawkins' opinion, religion is overly preoccupied with other people's sex lives. In this context, he visits a doctor who reinstates the hymen in Islamic women. A psychologist told Dawkins that religious people would masturbate or consume pornography just as often as non-religious people. The only difference is the mendacious handling of it and the feelings of guilt that religious people would develop because of it. Dawkins seeks the explanation for morality like sexual fidelity in human evolutionary inheritance. He advocates the theory that faithfulness is also in our nature and not in the fear of God. The sexual revolution in the 1960s with its promiscuity didn't work.

Part 2

In the second part, Richard Dawkins examines what statements science can make about death. The journey takes him through India, where he witnessed Hindu funerals, to genetics laboratories in New York.

Dawkins works with neuroscientists, evolutionary and genetic theorists. The question of how the human genome experiences a kind of immortality is also discussed. He meets a Christian who is dealing with nervous diseases. Dawkins rejects life after death, even if it is difficult for many people to endure. You have to face reality, even if it is sad.

part 3

The third part is about how an atheist can enjoy life at all. His journey takes him from casinos in Las Vegas to Buddhist and Christian monasteries at the foot of the Himalayas. He speaks to people who live in extreme poverty in India, or who have lost everything in hurricanes in the USA. He also speaks to comedian Ricky Gervais , and discusses the fate of Lev Tolstoy and Graham Greene . Dawkins reports on people who he believes are wasting their lives, such as monks. Someone dreams of having a family. He speaks to other atheists and advocates life itself, that it is unique and should be enjoyed.
