Sextus Gavius ​​Gallus was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 1st century AD .

A military diploma dated July 2, 61, shows that Gallus 61 was the commander of the Ala II Hispanorum et Aravacorum , which was stationed in the province of Illyricum at that time . He probably came from the province of Gallia cisalpina .
