Sexual joke

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In psychology and everyday use, a sexual joke is a class of jokes based on content-related criteria . Sexual issues are discussed in them. The classification of sexual jokes goes back to Sigmund Freud , who in his work The Joke and His Relationship to the Unconscious (Vienna 1905) established a first order that was also used outside the psychoanalytic school .

Most sexual jokes require prior knowledge, which cannot be generated by the listener at the moment of listening, but has to be learned beforehand. In Western culture, this prior knowledge - according to Freud - goes hand in hand with a general sexual undersupply, especially among men.

Delimitation of the sexual joke

The sexual joke should not be confused with the nonsense : Here, sexual content is apparently concealed in order to immediately distract the imagination. The Zote is often concealed by humiliating or disparaging ideas, among other things because these appear intrusive and dominant. There are no such components in sexual joke .
