Seyed Shamseddin Khareghani

Seyed Shamseddin Khareghani ( Persian سید شمس الدین خارقانی) is an Iranian diplomat .

Life

He entered the diplomatic service of Iran. In the 1980s he was Iran's chargé d'affaires in Ghana . After the reopening of the Iranian Embassy in the United Kingdom in London in October 1990, he was in the early 1990s there chargé his country.

Later he was the Iranian ambassador to Germany . He took up this post in January 2003 and was considered open-minded and ready for dialogue. At the end of 2005 he was dismissed from this position. The background to this was a worldwide recall of 40 Iranian ambassadors who are said to have been considered too liberal by the new Iranian government under Mahmoud Ahmadinejad . Seyed Shamseddin Khareghani was also the Iranian ambassador to the Netherlands .

He later became a member of the board of directors of the Iran Foreign Investments Company .
