Shahryar

Shahryar or Schahrjār is a male Iranian given name . Translated from Persian, it means "Great King". In literature , the name appears in the story of 1001 nights .

The name “Shahryar” should not be confused with “ Sharia ”, Islamic law. Other spellings for Shahryar are: Shahriar or Schahryar. In the story of 1001 Nights, Shahryar is the fictional Sassanid king who lets Scheherazade tell stories.
