Shakatayana ( Sanskrit : शाकटायन, Śākaṭāyana ) is a grammarian of ancient India who lived in the 8th century BC. Lived. His work has been lost, but quotes from younger authors like Yaska have proven its existence. Shakatayana is the first grammarian known by name.
