Shake (music)

Shake (ger .: shake ) referred to in the music one produced mainly by brass vibrato effect large gamut (third octave up) coming by shaking the instrument against the lips of the player concluded. Saxophonists achieve a similar effect with quick, pitch-changing lip movements.

The shake is mostly used as an emphatic means of expression for long notes at the end or climax of a phrase . Shakes performed by complete trumpet phrases are popular ingredients in effect repertoire of Swing - big bands .
