Shake That Boogie is the first long-playing record by the Austrian blues band Mojo Blues Band . It was released in late autumn 1978 as Gold LP 11 048. It was produced by Bernard Henrion.

History of origin

Joachim Palden, the pianist of the Mojo Blues Band , which he and Erik Trauner founded in 1977 , won the Boogie Woogie Contest in Zurich. The best performance of the contest was released on a live LP, the producer of which turned to Palden to produce a solo record with him. However, he preferred to play with his group and so the LP Shake That Boogie was born . The album was recorded between September 15-17, 1978. The music shows the band members' fondness for the Chicago blues.

Reception history

"Our first work sold quite well in Switzerland and at home we were able to literally flood the market with around 100 copies sold." (Erik Trauner)

The album was also a piece of pioneering work, as the Austrian blues scene was just emerging in its year of release.
