At the beginning of 2012 the club moved from Nanchang to Shanghai, where the previous club played from 2003 to 2004, and is now called Shanghai Shenxin FC. However, the first season in the old homeland was not very successful. The 2012 season was finished in penultimate place, which would actually have meant relegation. Since the 14th of the Dalian Shide League, however, the license was withdrawn, one could achieve relegation at the green table. For the 2016 season, the club has to relegate to the China League One due to its 16th place in 2015 .
