The China League One ( Chinese 中国 足球 协会 甲级 联赛 , Pinyin Zhōngguó Zúqiú Xiéhuì Jiǎjí Liánsài ), also known as the Chinese Jia League (中 甲 联赛), is the second highest division in Chinese men's football ; before 2004 it was called the Jia-B League .
mode
The season takes place within a calendar year, it starts in March or April and ends in October or November. Each club plays a home and an away game against every other team in the league. The three-point rule also applies here ; in the event of a tie, the direct comparison decides. In earlier decades there were varying numbers of promotion and relegation places; sometimes it was not possible to ascend. Since 2004, however, the two best clubs in a season have been promoted to the Chinese Super League . However, the number of relegated teams varied again and again for various reasons and in the 2011 season a relegation was played once, which the second division team lost. Currently, the two worst clubs are relegated to China League Two .

Foreign players
The number of foreign footballers allowed per club is also limited in the second division. There are currently three foreign footballers per club. Footballers from Hong Kong , Macau or Taiwan were not considered foreigners until the 2016 season. Since then, only those footballers who have signed their contracts before January 1, 2016 are still not considered foreigners.
