Gao Lin ( Chinese  郜 林 , Pinyin Gào Lín ; born February 14, 1986 in Zhengzhou ) is a Chinese national soccer player who has been under contract with Guangzhou Evergrande since 2010 .

Career

Lin began his professional career in 2005 with the Chinese first division club Shanghai Shenhua Liansheng and made his debut on August 21 in a 1-0 win over Liaoning Hongyun . After the departure of Xie Hui at the end of the 2007 season, he became a regular player. In the following season he scored eight goals in 20 games and was the Chinese runner-up with the club.

On March 10, 2010, Lin moved to the first division relegated Guangzhou Evergrande . He played his first game for Guangzhou on April 3 against the Beijing Institute of Technology FC and scored two goals. In the end, the club finished first in the second division and Lin was top scorer with 20 goals. As a newcomer, he scored eleven goals in 29 games in the following 2011 season and won the Chinese championship for the first time in the club's history.

National team

On July 31, 2005, he made his debut in the Chinese national soccer team in the game against South Korea at the East Asian Cup 2005 and was wrongly expelled in the 5th minute by the referee Yūichi Nishimura of the place. The EAFF canceled the eviction the next day.

His first goal, however, was not until January 21, 2009 when he played against Vietnam in qualifying for the 2011 Asian Cup , where he scored three goals.

In the friendly against Kuwait on February 22, 2012, he ran for the first time as captain of the team. On September 10, 2018, he made his 100th international match in the goalless friendly against Bahrain .
