Nei Mongol Zhongyou Football Club (Chinese: 内蒙古 中 优) is a professional Chinese football club currently participating in the China League One under license from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team is based in Hohhot ( Inner Mongolia ), and his home stadium, the Municipal Stadium Hohhot with 51,632 seats. Its current majority shareholders are Hohhot Sports Bureau and Shanghai Zhongyou Real Estate Group .
history
On October 8, 2011, the club was officially established under the name Shanxi Jiayi by Shanghai Zhongyou Real Estate Group, which formed a senior team consisting mainly of players from Taiyuan Technical University . With the help of the Shanxi Provincial Sports Bureau , a youth and women's teams have also been established, and the Shanxi Sports Center Stadium has been chosen as the club's home stadium. They registered to play in the third division ( League Two ) of the Chinese football system in 2012, while the club chose white shirts and black shorts as their home colors. In their debut season, they decided to play on the artificial turf at Wanbailin Stadium and later move to the Taiyuan Institute of Electrical Engineering Stadium for their home games. On the pitch, the club made their debut in the Chinese FA Cup in 2012, where it failed in the first round to Shanghai Pudong Zobon FC . During their first season, they finished ninth in their league.
The club owners decided not to register for the 2013 season after a disappointing debut season. Wang Bo replaced Wu Jianwen as head coach and the team went through an extensive restructuring process in preparation for the 2014 league season and changed its name to Taiyuan Zhongyou Jiayi. The rebuilding process was a great success and the club became runners-up in the league behind Jiangxi Liansheng FC and were able to advance to the second division for the first time. Despite the promotion, the club officially acknowledged the financial troubles caused by the increased professionalism and would consider relocating the team to get the necessary investment. On January 5, 2015, the Inner Mongolia Government Information Bureau in Hohhot held a press conference to announce that the Hohhot Sports Bureau would invest in the team and relocate it to their city, resulting in the renaming to Nei Mongol Zhongyou.
