The Technical University of Taiyuan , TUT for short , TYUT ( Chinese  太原 理工 大學  /  太原 理工 大学 , Pinyin Tàiyuán Lǐgōng Dàxué , English Taiyuan University of Technology ) is a state technical university in the People's Republic of China, founded in 1902 . It is based in Taiyuan , capital of Shanxi Province .

The university is one of the universities in Project 211 and in 2013 had 29,979 students and 2,007 academic staff.
