Shantae is the name of a series of computer games , all on the Jump 'n' Run - Genre based.

history

The character Shantae, the protagonist of the series, was created by Erin Bozon, while the games in the series were developed by her husband Matt Bozon.

The first game in the series, Shantae , received positive reviews. However, there were only a few units sold. In the opinion of many critics, it was because the game was released for the Game Boy Color , although it was replaced by its successor, the Game Boy Advance , at the time the game was released. Other reasons for the low sales figures are the lack of a known license and an insufficiently defined target group for the game.

With Shantae: Risky's Revenge appeared in 2010 for Nintendo DS , Wii U , iOS and PlayStation 4, a new part that introduced the series to a larger audience due to the higher sales figures of the platforms and helped her to long-term success. Currently, the Shantae series is WayForward's flagship series .
