Sharp PC-1500 pocket computer

The Sharp PC-1500 was a pocket computer (English pocket computer ), in 1982 with an 8-bit CPU , LH5801 (similar to the Zilog Z80 , but more powerful and in CMOS technology) built and 8 KB RAM came on the market. The programming language was BASIC and it had numerous built-in scientific functions.

The original manufacturer was Sharp , but in the USA the PC-1500 was marketed by the RadioShack Group under the name "Tandy Pocket Computer" (TRS-80 PC-2) . The successor model was the PC-1500A, this was cheaper and had more memory. Some add-on devices were also available, such as the CE-155 8 KB memory expansion module or the CE-161 16 KB memory expansion module .

  • CE-150: 4-color printer / plotter with cassette interface, mobile use thanks to built-in batteries. As an accessory for the Híradástechnika PTA-4000, which is identical to the PC-1500, also called "KA-160".
  • CE-151: 4 KB RAM memory module, unbuffered
  • CE-152: Cassette recorder (for external storage of programs and data)
  • CE-153: "Software Board": an external input tablet that can be connected via a wide cable and has approx. 140 touch-sensitive fields that can be labeled with a foil.
  • CE-154: Special case with precisely fitting compartments for a PC-1500 with CE-150, a CE-152 and a CE-153, along with all associated power supplies and cables
  • CE-155: 8 KB RAM memory module, unbuffered
  • CE-156: Tape cassette with software for Katakana support (takes up space in the PC-1500 when loading)
  • CE-157: Module with 4 KB RAM plus ROM with software for Katakana support (hardly takes up space in the PC-1500)
  • CE-158: "Communication Dock" attachable to the side: ( RS-232C ) - and parallel interface, with 4 built-in welded NiCd batteries (AA) as additional power supply for the computer.
  • CE-159: 8 KB RAM memory module with CR2032 backup battery (the memory module can therefore be removed from the PC-1500 and reinserted later without losing data)
  • CE-160: 8 KB RAM memory module (net 7.6 KB) with CR2032 backup battery, permanently write-protected, can only be written using the CE-165.
  • CE-161: 16 KB RAM memory module with CR2032 backup battery
  • CE-162E: parallel interface and cassette interface
  • CE-163: 32 KB RAM memory module with CR2032 backup battery, organized as two 16 KB RAM banks that can be switched via bank switching.
  • CE-165: Special device with several memory module sockets, for writing to up to 16 CE-160s at the same time
