The Mercury Milan is a mid-range sedan built from mid-2005 to the end of 2010 for the US automobile manufacturer Mercury , which is part of the Ford group .
The Milan is based on the Group's CD3 front-wheel drive platform. It is priced above the sister model Ford Fusion and positioned below the Lincoln MKZ .
Model history
On February 9, 2005, the Milan was presented at the Chicago Motor Show.
The Milan is the successor to the Mercury Mystique . It is offered in six model variants: Milan I4, Milan V6, Milan I4 Premier, Milan V6 Premier and with all-wheel drive as the Milan V6 AWD and Milan Premier AWD. The Milan differs from the Ford Fusion in its independently designed front and rear sections, larger rear doors, ellipsoid headlights, LED rear lights, a modified chassis set-up and a higher-quality interior design.
The Milan was only sold in the USA and Mexico, but not in Canada, as Mercury had withdrawn from the local market in 1999.
As part of the discontinuation of the Mercury brand, production of the Milan ended at the end of 2010.
Facelift
From spring 2009 a revised version of the Milan was offered. In addition to slight modifications to the front and rear as well as modifications to the interior, the range of engines in particular has been realigned. The base engine is now a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 129 kW (175 PS), which is joined as a new unit by a 176 kW (240 PS) 3.0-liter V6.
A hybrid version with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 114 kW (155 hp) and an electric motor was also available until the end of 2010.
